Ryan Gosling is a Canadian actor and musician who started his career as a child star on Disney Channel's 'Micky Mouse Club' in 1993-1995. He rose to fame after starring 'Noah Calhoun' in the romantic drama 'The Notebook' (2004). Here are some facts about Ryan Gosling that you might never know:
      1. Ryan Thomas Gosling was born to a traveling salesman, Thomas Gosling, and a secretary, Donna Gosling. His parents divorced when he was just 13 and then he lived with his mom and sister, Mandi.
      2. Ryan Gosling said that his family was raised Mormon and religion influenced every aspects of their lives including what they ate and what they thought. However, he confessed that he could never identify with Mormonism.
      3. When Gosling was in elementary school, he was so badly bullied that he, inspired by the action film 'First Blood', threw steak knives at other children during recess. This incident led to a suspension and he was then home-schooled by his mother until high school. He continued his study in 'Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School' and 'Lester B. Pearson High School'. At the age of 17, however, he dropped out of high school to pursue his acting career.
      4. From an early age, Gosling performed in front of audience with his sister. They sang together at weddings and were involved with a local ballet company. Gosling said that performing could boost his self-confidence because that was the only thing he was praised for.
      5. Ryan Gosling considered having Canadian accent did not sound 'tough', so he started to copy the accent of Marlon Brando.
      6. Not only is he an actor, Ryan Gosling is also a very talented musician. He plays the jazz guitar and the piano. He also has a band called 'The Dead Man's Bones', which released their first Music Video in 2008 for the song of 'In The Room Where You Sleep'.
      7. In order to get a level that would make his jazz musician character in La La Land (2016), Gosling had to spend four months learning how to play the piano perfectly.
      8. Gosling's upcoming movie, Song to Song (2017), once again put his singing skill front and center. He'll play a rock crooner who is involved in a triangle love.
      9. In 2002, Gosling dated Sandra Bullock, his co-star in 'Murder by Numbers'. Their relationship only lasted for a year and they broke up in 2003. In the mid 2005, he dated another co-star of him in 'The Notebook', Rachel McAdams. Their relationship was on and off as they broke up in the mid 2007 but reunited in 2008. Soon after that, they ended their relationship forever. In September 2011, Gosling dated Eva Mendes, his co-star in 'The Place Beyond the Pines'. They have two daughters, Esmeralda Amanda Gosling, born in 2014, and Amanda Lee Gosling, born in 2016.
