  1. Chaplin was born just four days before Adolf Hitler.
  2. People noted parallels between Charlie and Hitler as both had risen from poverty to world fame and wore the same toothbrush mustache.
  3. His father died because of alcohol abuse when he was 12 while his mother had to be sent to a mental asylum because of periodic bouts of insanity. 
  4. He started working at a very early age to feed himself. 
  5. He got married four times. 
  6. He had 11 children.
  7. He was the first actor to appear on "Time" Magazine.
  8. He was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1972 but the star was removed because of his political view which was considered as a communist sympathizer.
  9. After he died, his body was stolen as an effort to extort money from his family and was found eleven weeks later.
  10. In 1953, he was exiled from The USA because of his refusal to have an American citizenship. During the exiled years, he lived in Switzerland until his death.
