Dakota Mayi Johnson is an American actress and model who gained worldwide fame after starring Anastasia Steele in the erotic romance movie “Fifty Shades of Grey”, which was adapted from a novel under the same title. She was born in Austin, Texas, The USA, on October 4, 1989, to actor Don Johnson and actress Melanie Griffith. She grew up in a celebrity environment because not only her parents are Hollywood celebrities but also her maternal grandmother, Tippi Heren.
Dakota Johnson was educated at Aspen Community School in Aspen, Colorado and Santa Catalina School in Monterey, California. In the second year of her high school, she transferred to New Roads School in Santa Monica, California. She started to become interested in modelling after a photo session with other celebrities’ kids for “Teen Vogue”.
Dakota Johnson started her career in 1999 playing as Sondra in the movie “Crazy Alabama”. Graduated from high school, Johnson signed with the William Morris Agency and started her acting career. She landed a role in a box office movie, The Social Network, in 2010 and continued by several other movies in the following years. Her breakout role was playing Anastasia Steel in Fifty Shades of Grey (2015). She is planned to continue playing Anna in the upcoming “Fifty Shades” Films, “Fifty shades Darker” in 2017 and “Fifty Shades Freed” in 2018.
In 2015, Fifty Shades of Grey made $571 million worldwide on a budget of only $40m, smashing records and box-office predictions. Fifty Shades Darker is the second sequel of Fifty Shades films series directed by James Foley and written by Niall Leonard, which is going to be released On February 10, 2017. Following the success of the first film, the producers decided to keep Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steel) and Jamie Dorman (Christian Grey) as the leading casts.
