David Bowie is one of the best performers and most influential musicians in the world of all time. Born as David Robert Jones in London January 8th 1947, the English musician was better known as David Bowie. As a singer, David Bowie brought glam rock, pop and experimental genres. He was famous for his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust and science fictions songs.  Bowie, whose existence as a musician was from 1960s to millennium era, died on January 10th 2016 at the age of 69 because of a cancer. David Bowie was famous for his science fictional songs, such as Space Oddity, Starman, Life on Mars, etc., which were related to outer space and aliens. He was also distinguished because of his different colours of pupils, which happened because of being hit by his friends when he was a little boy. However, the different colour would then became his trademark.


David Bowie started his career in the 1960s and released his debut album in 1967. However, he began to be well-known after releasing his second album, the hits single of which Space Oddity, in 1969. This single could take Bowie to reach the peak of his popularity and was said to have been the first and most successful song by Bowie. In 1970s, Bowie was getting more and more popular and was even noted as one of the most popular singers in that era. A number of his successful albums such as The Man Who Sold the World (1970) and Hunky Dory (1971) was released in the same era consisting great hits singles, Black Country Rock, Life on Mars, Changes and Oh! You Pretty Things.

In 1972, Bowie released The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, which had become the most influential album in the history of rock music. In these albums, he started to introduce his alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust, a rocker from another planet. A number of hits singles such as Starman, Ziggy Stardust, Suffragette City and Five Years became smash hits.
